Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team full-time. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that safety training materials, audits, and practices align with the highest industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
Your Role
This position offers the unique opportunity to contribute both in the field and behind the scenes, auditing safety and quality practices for clients, while improving the content and impact of safety programs across the renewable energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Safety and Quality Audits
- Conduct on-site safety and quality audits for customers in the field to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and address safety hazards, non-compliance issues, and opportunities for improvement in field operations.
- Collaborate with field teams to implement corrective actions and foster a culture of safety excellence.
- Generate detailed reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and follow-up actions.
- Course Content Audits
- Review and audit safety course materials to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
- Provide actionable feedback to improve course content accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
- Approve final versions of training materials, ensuring alignment with compliance and field practices.
- Certificate Validation and Compliance Oversight
- Review and validate training completion documentation.
- Sign and issue course completion certificates for approved training programs.
- Ensure all training content adheres to local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Stay informed about updates in safety regulations and integrate them into course materials and audits.
- Incident Report Analysis and Corrective Action
- Analyze real-world incident data provided in training scenarios for accuracy and relevance.
- Validate course materials to ensure they reflect proper corrective actions and compliance strategies.
- Communication and Reporting
- Provide clear, concise feedback to course developers, field teams, and stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive records of course audits, field audit results, and issued certificates.
- Prepare and present reports summarizing compliance audits, field observations, and course review outcomes.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
Certifications
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent (preferred).
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification or higher.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in EHS or safety compliance, with a focus on auditing training content and field safety practices.
Skills
- Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards related to safety and compliance.
- Expertise in identifying field hazards and implementing practical safety improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide detailed and actionable feedback.
- Proficiency with digital tools for remote work (e.g., Microsoft Office, iSpring eLearning Software, Google Meet, Adobe Stock).
- Keen attention to detail and ability to review complex materials accurately.
